| Thought is God's gift to man. Thoughts, as far as we know, seperate us from all other creaturs on earth. It was a thought that invented math, science, art, literature, drama. It was a thought that made love, happiness, pleasure, sublimity. It was thought that gave us religion, hope, and ecstasy. God gave man thought, man thought of wonders.
Thought is God's curse on man. Thoughts, as far as we know, make us worse than all other creaturs on earth. It was a thought that started wars, the holocaust, slavery, man's inhumanity to man. It was a thought that made hate, suffering, loathing, evilness. It was thought that gave us religion, hope, and depression. God gave man thought, man thought of horrors.
Thoughts corrupt our minds in sweet bliss. Thoughts caress happines with a stake and a saw. Thoughts infultrate our inner workings and command us what to do. Thoughts guide us onto surprising and unwanted paths.
I have my thoughts. They play with my emotions, with my ideals, with my state of mind. They give ideas of great movements, fantastic art, and incredible rhetoric. They inspire me, they enlighten me, they help me grow. My thoughts are my muse, and I am at their disposal.
My thoughts have me. I try to play with them, to change them, to alter their paths. They depress me, confuse me, and befundle my mind. They neglect me, they abuse me, they lower my place. My thoughts are my master, and I am at their disposal.
Beware of thought, for thought will lead to the greatness of displeasure. |
